Creating iconic posters is a lesson in reductionism. I often find the elements I start with get whittled down as the design process evolves. A single image, and a few bold words are often enough to communicate the message. I am a huge fan of the WPA approach to poster design and one of my design heroes is Paul Rand. I relish the idea of doing more with less. In another life I might have designed Park’s Service Posters.Whether the poster is a one-off or part of an ongoing campaign I have had a good response to my approach which is generally irreverent while still being informative and fun.
